MOTD w/Ryan – Daredevil (7/20)
When we go out Ryan is usually very well behaved. He doesn’t really leave our side, occasionally he’ll let some of our friends carry him and he doesn’t cry much.
But when we are home, it’s a different story. He tries to get himself into all sorts of trouble, going where he shouldn’t be going. I like to put him in the center of the area rug since he hates being in the Pack ‘n Play, but I always find him by tables or trying to get near chairs.
Lately his new thing is to stand on our bed and reach for his crib railing and dangle. Luckily he only does it when Henry is around him, until today. I was sitting on the bed with him and had my arm around him since he was close to the edge of the bed. He slowly reached up for his crib rail and I thought he’d be happy just holding onto it. But he actually kicks his legs off the bed to dangle, which would have scared years off my life, except I still had my arm around him.
I sense many many years of scares like this as he gets older and finds more interesting ways to try to hurt himself.
