Eating with Ryan
Ryan’s been eating solid foods since the end of November. He’s tried a wide range of fruits and vegetables. I’ve recently started making him congee with chicken. I puree the chicken once it’s cooked. Ryan seems to be enjoying that too and doesn’t mind when I add some peas in there too for some more color and to get some veggies in him. But it’s great when Henry and I can have a meal and not have to make him specific baby food.
We did a little walking around today, enjoying the wonderful weather. We wanted to go to Crate & Barrel to look and feel their rugs, but they were closed for Easter. We walked to Best Buy to check out their cameras and TVs and they were also closed for Easter. We walked over to the Time Warner Center and luckily Whole Foods was open. We picked up some groceries and bought a rotisserie chicken for dinner. When we were ready to eat dinner, we put Ryan in his high chair between us and fed him bits of chicken that we pulled off the chicken. He was enjoying it and eagerly waiting for his next bite. After the chicken, I fed him baby size bites of banana and papaya, which he also enjoyed a lot.
I haven’t thought about what next to introduce to Ryan. He’s had some fish already and the books I have suggested either lamb or turkey. Not sure how he’s going to like the gaminess of lamb, so it may be turkey.
