MOTD w/Ryan – Going Out (2/6)
Henry didn’t have to work on this Saturday and we didn’t get the huge snow storm the weathermen predicted so we wanted to walk out to Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond. I got the baby all changed and dressed and then got dressed and was ready to go, but Henry’s work Blackberry started going off and then the baby decided he was hungry.
While nursing the baby, he fell asleep and then somehow I fell asleep holding him too. But I think we both took a quick 30 minute power nap and then I went to check on Henry, hoping he was dressed and ready to go. He was not. He was still e-mailing on his Blackberry. I wasn’t too happy.
Once we were finally ready to go, I handed the baby to Henry while I made sure our diaper bag was good. Henry noticed a funky smell and asked me to take a sniff of the baby’s butt. Yup, he pooped. Henry put him down on the changing table and took off his pants and was opening up Ryan’s onesie when he came in contact with poo. Henry yelled for me to come over to help him out, not knowing how bad it may be. I checked one side and found a little poo and thought that’s ok. But then we went to the other side and noticed thick creamy poo went up his back. In the process of trying to get the onesie off of him, poo got on the baby’s arm, but we knew we’d have to bathe him and I chucked the onesie.
So we quickly drew Ryan a bathe and he loved him. He was splashing around like crazy and getting me all wet. Once again we were ready to go. Henry, of course, had to point out that if we had left when the baby and I were ready, that accident would have happened while we were out and would have been very inconvenient and harder to clean while away from home. I guess it worked out for the best that Henry had to deal with work.
