MOTD w/Ryan (9/24)
I noticed something red on the edge of Ryan’s left eyelid a few weeks ago. When we went in to see his pediatrician last week, she said it was a blood vessel and thought it was nothing, but recommended a pediatric ophthalmologist for us to be really sure.
The pediatric ophthalmologist assured us that his eye is ok, but sometimes the blood vessel will be bigger and will weigh down the eyelid, or will be thicker and push into the eyeball or protrude out of the eye, luckily these are not the cases for Ryan. It’s there, it’s not bothering him and maybe by the age of 1 or 2, it’ll disappear.
But as we were trying to get out of the house, I had to nurse him first. After I nursed him, Henry took care of changing his diaper and getting him into his stroller. At the pediatric ophthalmologist’s office, Henry was holding him and little Ryan had a diaper malfunction. I was still filling out the forms when I hear, “what the?” and you see Henry touching the baby’s diaper and then he touched his pants. Good thing Henry changed him and not me.
And poor Henry was dressed for work in his suit. He said it felt like he peed on himself.
And I felt really bad for the little kids with serious eye issues. There was one little boy who looked like he had surgery on his left eye, we could see a scar and it was shut. There was also a little Asian girl with what looked like a patch, except it wasn’t flat on her eye, it protruded out about an inch.
