37th Week of Pregnancy

Our little guy is growing about an ounce a day. He’s getting bigger and bigger and heavier for me to carry. We’re getting closer to the home stretch, which is very very scary.
- BS is officially baked now. We are definitely getting nervous and really need to just be able to get our move done. But he’s full term now.
- During my weekly visit to the doctor, they performed the Group B Strep test. Hopefully it all comes back fine, but from what I’ve read and heard, it happens. A lot of women have it and don’t know it, but when you deliver, if you have it, you don’t want to give it to your baby, so they usually give you antibiotics.
- Another update from my weekly exam, I was not dilated, so no baby yet. I will say, this was a not so very comfortable part.
- It’s getting uncomfortable to walk around now. I’ve been walking about 8 blocks and 1 avenue to work everyday, but now I’m getting the feeling that my legs can’t carry me that far. But moving will make my commute shorter. Henry also comments that I walk incredibly slowly these days. I try to walk faster with him, but will always get a stitch on my side.
- I’ve read that you know your baby has dropped if you look down and can’t see your belly button. Not that there’s any question about whether I’ve dropped or not, but when I look down, I can’t see my belly button.
- The doctor told me that in terms of size, he’s in the 82nd percentile. Yes, he’s huge. I have no clue how it happened. But at least Henry can’t say I’m not eating enough for the baby. And he may get his wish, to have an 8 lb baby. We keep asking each other how did this happen.
- We stopped by Sleepys to go mattress shopping. But I left it up to Henry to actually test the mattresses. Laying down and getting back up will just be too hard for me. Sometimes I feel like a turtle stuck on his back. It’s kind of humorous for Henry to watch.
- We took our last baby class from RealBirth, a breast feeding class. Henry did not enjoy the class at all and felt it was a waste of his time. He was very grumpy after wards. I’ll have to wait and see if the baby and I get the hang of it.
- People at work are looking at me and are kind of worried that I will pop any day. And strangers in the street like to tell me that I’m ready to pop too.
- I’m going to the bathroom about every two hours when I’m sleeping now. Not fun!
- The baby likes to stay on the left side now, which is different from my second trimester where he loved the right side. And at his current size, it’s very noticeable which side he is on. I can sit straight up and you’ll see a huge lump on the left side.
- I still have trouble breathing from time to time.
- Our friends June and Guo got married in Mexico. We couldn’t go because I can’t fly, and we’re moving.
- The little guy is still hiccuping a lot.
