36th Week of Pregnancy

My 36th week has come and almost gone and I’m into my third and last trimester. We had an ultrasound and found out the estimated weight of our baby makes our baby a big boy, which scares the two of us.
- We went in for an ultrasound on Tuesday and was surprised by what we heard. Our little boy was already at an estimated 6lb 14 oz. By now, he’s probably 7 lbs already. I was more expecting to hear he was around 6 lb, which would be normal for a 36 week baby. At week 38 is where he would be around 7 lb. So all those people who kept telling me my belly looked huge were right, it is huge. He’s also around turned into position with his head down, which also makes sense. I’ve been feeling little wigglings lower than I have before, I assumed they were fingers or toes, now I know they are his little fingers, probably him open and closing his fist and wiggling around down there. That night, Henry had a nightmare that our little guy came early, very very early. Henry really hasn’t been going with me to my regular appointments with our doctor, but he will for the next one.
- Even though BS is pretty large in my belly, I guess he’s still got room to move. He’s still really super active.
- I had Daisy Mae’s again. The last time I had it, I woke up with PUPPP. I was happy to wake up and not have PUPPP. And I love their sweet and sticky ribs and their beef rib with bone.
- We’re almost all packed up to move, thanks to Nora and Alan. Henry’s family will be helping with the actual move. And the baby just has to wait until we move before he can make an appearance.
- What baby stuff do we have left to do? We need to find a pediatrician, install the baby’s car seat, pick up the bassinet and pack our hospital bag. I’d also like to get a haircut, but that isn’t a must do. And some last minute pampering would be nice too.
- We’ve been trying to find a pediatrician on the West Side, but the recommendations we’ve gotten have either been on the Upper East Side or in the Village. We’ve haven’t heard one good one on the West Side yet. If you know of one, let us know.
- I haven’t feeling as much heartburn this past week, but it may be me avoiding foods that will give me heartburn or the baby has moved lower. Occasionally I’ll still feel a shortness of breath, so I guess my lungs my still be kind of squished.
- One of the pregnancy newsletters I signed up for said to not sleep on your belly (in the 36th week). I want to know who in their 36th week can sleep on their belly. And even if I could, I would be worried I would be crushing my baby. I’ve been sleeping on my left side for so long now.
- We’re taking a breast feeding class this week, it’ll be more useful for me than for Henry, but it’ll be good for him to see that it won’t be a piece of cake.
- The baby is gaining about an ounce a day now. You can do the math to figure out how heavy he’ll be if he stays in for the 40 weeks.
