Hanging Out with the Family
My Aunt Brenda, Uncle Ricky and cousin Sarah flew in from Hong Kong for Cora’s wedding. Virginia couldn’t come. Since they’re in town, we’ve had a few family gatherings between the Chans, Los and Kams, which is good since we all rarely get to hang out like this.
We’ve had dinner at the East on Main Street in Flushing, which was pretty disappointing, minus the Peking Duck. We had Cora’s wedding, which was just one big party for all of us. We all went to Chinatown for dinner at Woo Hop, which was very good and inexpensive.
For a change of scenery, we all went to the Big Apple BBQ at Madison Square Park today. There was probably about 13 of us and we had five fast passes. In the future, we’ll know that each fast pass is good for about 3-4 people and you don’t need one for two people, unless you plan on going both days. We ended up selling our fast passes at face value. So we all sat around in the heat (again), eating ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw and beans while drinking our water, Cokes and Snapple Ice Teas. It was an enjoyable and stress free way to spend time with our family, while baking in the sun.
