The Shams Are Hawaii Bound (But Not Now)

We officially bought our plane tickets about two weeks ago and Henry has been booking hotels for us in Oahu, Hana and Maui for our two week trip to Hawaii. I have been tasked with creating itineraries for us including possible meal locations.

I definitely want to do some active things like learning to surf, snorkeling, seeing a volcano and kayaking but I’ll need so time to relax and just lay on the beach, since it is a vacation. Anyone have any good eating spots or activities? We’ll have a car in Hana and Maui, but we won’t in Oahu. And yes, I’m aware everything will be expensive. :(

This Hawaii trip plus Ming’s bachelorette party to Puerto Rico, and adding in July 4th means I’m working only 8-9 days in July. Sweet!

You guys need to be really careful when you are in Hana Maui and oahu as crime is on the rise. My sister (who lives in Honolulu) is here visiting and she told me that The local indiginous natives love to mug and beat up tourists there as it’s an underdeveloped part of Hawaii. So don’t stray off the beaten path. She told me there is a lot of reverse racism against whites. Since you guys aren’t, you should be alright but be careful.

we’re going to be gone 7/10-7/23, but it’s a red eye back so we get back on 7/24. so we are going to miss your birthday. :(

i can’t wait for PR, just some fun in the sun, and then a week later, i leave for hawaii!

no worries, probably going to be a low key birthday. you’ll just have to make it up to me in PR (JK)!
