A Leisurely Sunday in Hell’s Kitchen
Henry and I ran some errands earlier today. We visited Henry’s tailor, stopped by Amy’s Bread and had Sunday Brunch at the Blue Point.
Henry’s tailor is from Hong Kong, he’s called Fat, with Master and Company. Henry gets his dress shirts and suits tailor made for a reasonable price, but it takes 2-3 months to get the new clothes. We were there for a little over an hour looking at different patterns. Kind of boring for me, but I did what I could to help Henry out with his selections, though we tended to like opposite things.
It was our first time at Amy’s Bread. We always see long lines out the door, so we haven’t stopped in. But since it was a nice Sunday, we decided to wait in line to see if Amy’s bread was worth all the hype. The Country Sourdough looked good, but we opted for the Potato Onion Dill Bread ($3.25) instead, which was very good and it shouldn’t surprise me, but there were real onions and dill in the bread. I can’t wait to go back to get more fresh bread.
Our last stop at Blue Point for brunch was completely disappointing. I wanted the lobster roll, which they were out of, and they were out of their burger too. How can you be out of burgers?? We ordered a Coke and Diet Coke. When it finally came, it tasted odd, way too sweet. I think it was Pepsi, which makes a huge difference to me, because I really really dislike Pepsi and would have gotten something else to drink had I known they didn’t carry Coke. Henry got over easy eggs, fries and bacon. His eggs were practically fully cooked and his fries were just plain pathetic looking. His bacon was good and crisp. In lieu of the lobster roll I got banana french toast instead. The french toast was very soggy and the bananas were way too artificially sweetened. Our service was terrible, it took forever to find our waitress. It was a horrible experience and we will not be back.

[...] Do not go to Blue Point for food. Henry and I went there a few weeks ago for a Sunday brunch and were completely disappointed with our food. On top of that, Henry was checking our credit card bill and they billed us $62 for our brunch, which was not what even close to what was on our bill. So be wary, they serve sub par food and will bill your credit card company incorrectly. Leave a comment [...]
