Hanging Out with College Buddies
After not seeing some of my friends since New Year’s, I attempted to plan an outing for dinner and drinks. With the few responses I got, most people weren’t interested in dinner and just wanted drinks, from the responses that I did get.
The few of us who did go to dinner together (Mark, Nelson, Teddy, Henry and I) went to Rare Bar & Grill at Bleeker Street. We started with the fried calamari with chipotle aioli. You really can’t go wrong with fried calamari, unless they just don’t know how to deep fry it. For the burgers, we tried the T-Bone burger, M*M burger, Rare Breed burger and a french fry tasting basket on the side. The burgers were good, but do you really want to pay $20 for ground beef? Our small group also celebrated the belated birthday of Mark.
For the drinks, we were going to go to the familiar hang out spot, the Met, except it was closed, probably for the holidays. So we ended up at another familiar spot, Yello. I’d like to say that we hung out till the wee hours of the morning, but we’re old, so we left at a decent time with light buzzes.

they have a kobe burger at rare too, but it’s just not the same when you grind it up, then it’s just ground beef.

thanx for the dinner. on a unrelated note, they raised the price of Beard Papas cream puffs. It’s now a ridiculous 2.25 per puff instead of 1.55. That’s crazy. I think it’s the high rents. Even Barnes and Nobles on 8th is closing cause they can’t afford the rent. what is this world coming to?

Damn! That is expensive for a cream puff. Can’t believe B&N is closing too.
On another unrelated note, when is your actual birthday? I know it’s in March, you can feel free to e-mail me if you want.
