Family Ties Theme Song

One day while picking up lunch with my co-workers Ally, Holly and Dina, someone brought up Family Ties and its theme song. None of us could remember it, and what we associated with the Family Ties theme song was the Growing Pains theme song. So of course, once back in my office, I checked on You Tube videos of the opening theme. What I found odd was that as a kid I watched Family Ties a lot, yet the theme did not sound familar to me at all, but it did look familar.
