New Year’s Eve
I thought I took more pics during New Year’s Eve, but I checked and I only had a few. We spent our New Year’s Eve at Tigerland (85 Avenue A) with a bunch of friends (twelve of us). We had a prix fixe meal, so we were constantly ordering alcohol while food just appeared on our tables. I had the sangria, but people at our table was also ordering the beer.
For appetizers we had (I think):
- rice paper rolls with crispy shrimp and Vietnamese sausage
- steamed P.E.I. mussels with chili, lemongrass and coconut
- Vietnamese spring rolls
- a duck salad
- I’m pretty sure there were others but I can’t pick them off the menu
For the main course we had (I think):
- wild shrimp pad thai
- caramelized garlic wild shrimp
- noodles
- a curry
- sauteed baby bok choy
- again, I know there were other dishes, but they’re not coming to me now
For desserts we had:
- coconut tapioca
- Thai tea cup cake
- coffee cup cake
The food was good. If you’re in the LES, stop by and give Tigerland a try.
From the pictures, you can see that around midnight all the cellphones came out and a flurry of text messages went out wishing everybody and their mother a happy new year.
