My cousins (Jennifer, Jassica, Cheryl and Cora), my sisters (Monica and Nora) and my new brother-in-law, Alan, celebrated my birthday with me on Friday at Markt. We made reservations on Wednesday for six and on Friday we were able to change the reservation from six to seven and seven to eight without a problem. We were seated when there were five of us. After we ordered, the food came amazingly quickly. While picking up our dishes, the busboy actually dropped Alan’s cup of water and it broke, water and glass spewed everywhere, on part of Alan and Nora and maybe Cora too. I really thought they would comp us something, but nothing. Our entrees were pretty good, as was the bread. The desserts were even better!

Our entrees:

Our desserts:

I also got a Peche Lindemans (golden color, sweet, bubbly taste of peaches) and Jen got Cassis Lindemans Deep (red, delicate aroma of wild currants, refreshingly sweet) to drink. They were yummy beers.

Markt is located at 401 W 14th Street, at 9th Avenue, right at the corner. You can make reservations by calling 212-727-3314, I could not find it on Open Table.

isn’t it always? but i would say if you’re going there and want to try desserts, pass on the creme brulee, it tasted good, but tastes the same as usual. try the other desserts, they are more worth it if you want to try different things.

Tomatoes are always present as garden vegetables because they are easy to grow.`:’
