Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum On Leave?

I’m watching the 10 o’clock news and I hear that the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum along the West Side Highway by Pier 86 (12th Avenue and 46th Street) will be leaving NYC. I think it has been there since 1974. I didn’t even know it could move. I remember visiting the Intrepid in junior high school as a school trip, probably for a science class. It was interesting (if you’re on the nerdy side) and I enjoyed it a lot. It is moving to Bayonne, NJ, where it will get a new paint job, renovations and repairs. It may be two years before it opens again. It kind of makes me wish I took a picture of it once last time when we were in the neighborhood for Dad’s birthday.
