My Poor Phone
I’m leaving work, walking to the dry cleaners to pick up Henry’s suits and I take out my cellphone to give Henry a call. I just wanted to know if he was going to be home for dinner. I pull my phone out of my bag and with one hand try to close the bag and with the other hand, hold the phone and dial, something I’ve done many many times. But this time, while trying to get a good grip on the phone and dial, it slipped out of my hand, smacked against the wooden plank next to me (some store was being renovated so they had the wood up surrounding the property), falls on the floor and separates.
It’s a little upsetting, I’ve had a cellphone for a long time now and this is the first one that I actually broke. I’ve had this Motorola one for about three years now and the battery needs to get charged more frequently and some of the buttons have to be pushed a little harder to work, but it wasn’t broken. I had the Motorola StarTac and Motorola Timeport before this and they were retired because the batteries weren’t staying charged, but that was after 2-3 years. Though I am happy that I can still make calls with it, it’s just a little harder holding onto it since it won’t close anymore and one of the parts that holds it together is cracked. I’m really hoping when Henry gets home, he can close the phone. I’ve tried and tried with no luck. I have to wait till mid-October to get a new phone from Verizon. Let’s hope it makes it for that long. I don’t think I can live without my phone.
UPDATE: After some struggling, Henry was able to put my phone back together. Yipee!
