Los Angeles Photos
I finally got around to adding the (few) photos I took from Los Angeles. Part of the problem was there was some error on the photo gallery pages so I wanted to fix that before I posted more photos. We weren’t in Los Angeles for that long so there aren’t that many photos. Most were from the day we went to Santa Monica and when we went to see the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We didn’t do all the touristy stuff this time around since we did it when we visited in 2004.
It was kind of cold so we didn’t make it to the beach at Santa Monica, maybe we’ll make it the next time. We did walk around the Third Street Promenade and grabbed food at Border Grill because we like Mexican food and we used to watch Two Hot Tamales on the Food Network back when we were in Binghamton. The sangria was good, but kind of potent for lunch, and I guess we didn’t really need to get a pitcher for the two of us, but we were on vacation. The interior of Border Grill was a bit disturbing and I could see it giving little children nightmares, but the food was good. We got the poblano quesadilla for an appetizer. It wasn’t spicy but was still very good. I got the Stacked Enchilada Manchego which was yummy but too much food for me. Henry got the Chile Relleno, which he also enjoyed.
While in LA, we stayed at ÉLAN hotel modern. It was a good hotel with nice accomdations and a really friendly staff. They were really helpful with all my questions about what to do. It was also close to the Beverly Center so we window-shopped. We also had dinner at Lawry’s Restaurant. We went to try their prime ribs, which were pretty yummy.
We had a good time there, but we won’t be moving to LA. Henry decided to go to NYU, it would be too stressful to move out to LA and then move back in two years. Plus it was a bad sign that it rained really hard the day we went to visit UCLA, but only while we were on campus.
I’m slowly working on my Hong Kong photos now. I’ve resized my photos from day one, only 11 more days to go.
