New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers (11-6)
When I watch New York Yankee games, I only like to watch when the Yankees are up, the superstitious part of me thinks that if I watch when the other team is up and they score it’s because I was watching, I know, it’s silly.
We’ve been sporadically watching the Yankees vs. Tigers game and Henry tuned in when he thought the game wasn over, but it was the top of the 11th inning. 10 Yankee batters went up, unfortunately Derek Jeter was two out of the three outs. He was also the only batter without a hit the whole game. I think the announcers said something about his right hand. The Yankees scored five runs in the 11th to break the tie with a score of 11-6 and that would be the final score. Mariano Rivera got the win. It was a pretty exciting 11th inning to watch. Jason Giambi had a home run, Bernie Williams singled to the right and Alex Rodriguez scored. Andy Phillips singled and both Bernie Williams and Robinson Cano scored. Melky Cabrera singled and Terrence Long scored. I love these kind of innings and occasionally I will feel bad for the other team.
Random Question: Why don’t the New York Yankee uniforms have the name of the player on the back like other teams do? Sometimes from the back, I just have no clue who the player is.
