Pat, George, Henry and I (the PHOG Council) went to davidburke & donatella for Sunday Brunch and the food wasn’t exceptional and the atmosphere was very stuffy. The only thing that was helping was the mimosas and bellinis we were drinking. For the appetizer we had 3 lobster bisques (with apples) and one tuna and salmon tartare parfait. The soup was very creamy and was a bit heavy and had too many apples. You really can’t go wrong with the tuna and salmon tartare parfait. For the main courses we had an eggs benedict (the eggs were overdone), codfish with crab dumplings and corn chowder (which was good) and 2 scrambled eggs with lobster (medicore). For desserts we had banana chocolate torte, coconut layer cake and 2 apple tarts. I liked the apple tart because it was nice and flaky, but I didn’t like that there was so few apples, only a one layer sliver across the top. The banana chocolate torte was okay. THe coconut layer cake really had no taste. Let’s hope the next outting of the PHOG council will fare better.

you gotta better suggestion for the letters P H O and G? that was the best that we could come up with. and we joke that we’re going to drop pat because she’s always busy and then we’d be HOG! How fitting would that be?
